Engineering plastics for 3D printing

Additive technologies increasingly penetrate in the different spheres of human activity. Production of various technical details for machines, hydraulic equipment has become an important area of application of 3D printing recent years. As practice shows, it's cheaper to print wear of parts on a 3D printer, than order a new mechanism from the manufacturer.

Various technical details, which work under significant loads, in aggressive media require the presence of certain properties of the plastic in their production. There are a lot of engineering plastics that are suitable for 3D printing technology products with different properties. These are PC, PET, coPET, PBT, Elastan.

PBT - polybutylene terephthalate - plastic with high strength properties and excellent sliding properties. It is easy to produce a quality products with it by 3D printing. Suitable for producing bearings, clutches, gears, parts operating in friction assemblies.


PC - polycarbonate - hard durable engineering plastic, can withstand significant shock loads. The articles, printed with PC, easily handled with chloroform.

Elastan - flexible plastic with different hardness. Resistant to oils. Suitable for 3D printing seals for hydraulic pumps, gears, bushings.

Presented engineering plastics for the 3D printing were repeatedly tested under actual operating conditions and well-proven.
Thus, the replacement of faulty technical details are no longer a problem.
